Mediations and arbitrations have been the sole components of my legal practice for over 15 years. Over that period of time - - drawing on experience gained in trying cases (on both sides of the bar) and in representing clients of all compositions, shapes and sizes - - I have developed a track record of consistently resolving disputes impartially, judiciously and expediently by way of mediated settlement or arbitration. The depth and breadth of my legal experience enable me to identify and articulate key issues. Empathy for each party in a mediation enables me to help adversaries find a mutually acceptable resolution. In arbitration the same facilities allow me to arrive at a fair and just resolution. I cannot claim always to make everyone happy, but rarely does a principal or attorney who has negotiated in good faith leave one of my mediations feeling unrequited by the process.

If we have never worked together or do not otherwise already know each other, give me a call. I would be happy to come by your office (or for you to come to mine) to introduce myself. I think you will be able to gain a sense of my work with just a short visit. If time doesn’t allow for that or you would prefer to speak to outside references, let me know what sort you would like to have – plaintiff’s lawyers, defense lawyers, insurance adjusters, etc - and I’ll get some to you right away.

"We jointly selected Joe Kirkham to serve as the sole arbitrator in a complex, high-dollar contract dispute. We share the view that Joe's administration and handling of the case was superb – impartial, thoughtful, and respectful of the parties, the witnesses and the lawyers. We endorse Joe to any lawyer or litigant looking for the prompt and fair resolution of a dispute."
